What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your device. It lets the site recognise you between page loads — so you stay signed in as you move from a vacancy listing to the application form, for instance.

Where this policy says "cookies" it also covers similar technologies such as local storage, session storage and tracking pixels, which do much the same job by different means.

First-party cookies are set by us. Third-party cookies are set by another company whose service appears on our pages, such as an analytics provider or an embedded video. Session cookies disappear when you close the browser; persistent ones stay until they expire or you delete them.

How we ask for consent

The first time you visit, you'll see a banner. Nothing but the strictly necessary cookies is set until you choose. Accepting or rejecting are equally easy — there's no hidden "reject" behind extra clicks.

Your choice is remembered for [12] months, after which we ask again. You can change it sooner at any time (see section 7).

If you are in Australia, cookie consent isn't required in the same way as under UK and EU law, but we apply the same standard to everyone. Our crew are international and it's simpler to run one rule.

Strictly necessary cookies

These make the site work. They can't be switched off, and they don't need consent, because the site cannot deliver what you've asked for without them. Blocking them in your browser will break signing in and applying for vacancies.

Functional cookies

These remember choices you've made so the site behaves the way you left it. Turning them off doesn't break anything, but you'll be re-entering your search filters more often.

Analytics cookies

These tell us which vacancies get viewed, where people leave the application form, and whether the site works on the devices crew actually use. We look at it in aggregate — we're not watching individuals.

They are only set if you accept them.

Embedded content

Some pages carry content hosted elsewhere — a crew video introduction, a map, or a social media feed. Those providers can set their own cookies, and we have no control over them. Where we can, we load embedded content only after you've accepted, or use a privacy-preserving mode.

[List any embeds you actually use — YouTube or Vimeo for crew videos, Google Maps on the contact page, an Instagram feed — and delete this section if you use none.]

Changing your choices

Use the cookie settings link in our footer. It reopens the banner with your current choices, and takes effect immediately — non-essential cookies already set are removed when you withdraw consent.

Managing cookies in your browser

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, usually under Privacy or Site settings. Clearing them will sign you out and lose your saved searches, and blocking all cookies will stop the application form from working.

Instructions for each browser are on its own support site — search for "cookie settings" plus the browser name for the current version.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal, which no common standard obliges sites to honour, and a Global Privacy Control signal, which some jurisdictions treat as a valid opt-out. [We honour Global Privacy Control signals where our consent tool supports them — confirm this with your CMP before publishing, and delete the sentence if it doesn't.]

Changes and contact

We review this list when we add or remove a tool, and at least once a year. The date at the top shows the current version.
